Subject: I heard a "clump clump" tonight
Don & I were watching an episode of "Without a Trace" tonight after the late news. Our front yard which is about 1/4 acre or so has the horses grazing in it. That clump clump sound I heard could mean only one thing... yep, my Napoleon was at the front door. The first time he attempted a visit to our elevated front door was when I was away at the San Antonio dog shows this summer and after 4 days of not seeing mom in the barn or pastures, he figured he'd come looking for me. Well Don took pix of Napoleon on the front steps but they got deleted in his cell phone.
Anyhow I left the front door open and he headed on in (all dogs were already down asleep in their rooms for the night) and he moisied on in...until he spotted the parrot...or rather until the parrot had a fit that a horse was in the house. That sent him running for the front door and back outside. He thought about coming back in and I decided to lead him back into the yard. The stairs to the right of where we're standing are graduated platforms we built when our great dane Pinki was on her 3 legs (from having the amputation of her front leg due to cancer)... but I didn't want him jumping off to the left where the steps are normal steps and hurting himself.... So once I got him back down into the yard and with the herd, I roped off the steps so he can't make any appearances after we go to bed.
Smiles ~
Penny
